James Curtis is a vice president, US agency lending trading, for Fidelity Capital Markets, the institutional trading arm
of Fidelity Investments, providing innovative trading and technology solutions, as well as execution services, across
multiple asset classes for institutional investors. Fidelity Investments is a leading provider of investment management,
retirement planning, portfolio guidance, brokerage, benefits outsourcing, and other financial products and services to
institutions, financial intermediaries, and individuals.
In this role, Mr. Curtis is responsible for the negotiation and maintenance of securities lending transactions as well as
data analytics for the business line. Fidelity Agency Lending was launched in 2019 to take its affiliated lending
program in-house and capitalize on Fidelity’s market positioning and financing expertise.
Prior to joining Fidelity in 2021, Mr. Curtis served as the head of domestic trading for the agency lending group at
State Street Bank and Trust beginning in 2017. His responsibilities included managing the trading function, portfolio
pricing, and data analytics. Additionally, he worked within the Prime Brokerage division of Nomura International PLC
for nine years, and prior to that he had a five-year tenure at JP Morgan Chase in agency lending. He has been in the
financial industry since 2002.
Mr. Curtis earned his bachelor of science degree in finance from the University of Warwick. He also holds the
Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 7 and 63 licenses.
