Jason Barron will fulfil the role of global head of financing services, owing to Mitch Moore leaving as head of prime brokerage for UBS.

Barron’s role will be to head up the new financial services group, which combines prime brokerage and global synthetic equities. Barron led UBS's effort in the winding down of Kweku Adoboli's positions, after the 'rogue trader' lost $2 billion as a result of alleged unauthorised trading.

Formerly head of global equity derivatives, Barron’s old role will be filled by Roger Naylor, a recent hire from Deutsche. Naylor will report to Mike Stewart, head of global equities and head of Investment Banking Securities, Americas.

Mitch Moore is said to be leaving for personal reasons, after returning to his role just a year ago. He originally joined UBS in 1992.

He helped to grow the prime brokerage business at UBS, as well as its exchange-traded derivatives execution and clearing business.

After the trading scandal in 2011, a number of senior heads in the equities business resigned, leaving the London team under significant pressure.
