Todd Ransom has rejoined Haynes and Boone in New York as a partner in the firm’s prime brokerage and equity lending practice group.

“Adding Ransom to our growing practice group is a natural step,” said partner Craig Unterberg, head of the group. “Not only does he bring strong experience in prime brokerage and margin transactions, he is also well versed in an array of financial products and structures that are integral in the businesses of our buy- and sell-side clients.”

The firm’s New York financial services platform has been expanding rapidly with several recent hires, including multiple former in-house lawyers and regulatory attorneys with specific operational and market experience and broker-dealer, investment advisory and futures regulatory expertise.

Ransom regularly advises clients with respect to a wide variety of equity derivative transactions, hedging strategies, margin loans with a concentration on single stock and ‘40 Act company financings, and related regulatory issues and transactional matters.

Previously, Ransom served as an in-house counsel for Bank of America. He also is a former associate at Haynes and Boone.

The prime brokerage and equity lending group advises domestic and international financial institutions, including banks, investment banks, broker-dealers, hedge funds, private and public funds, and other investors in connection with prime brokerage and finance transactions, structured products and trades, margin loans and regulations, and custody, segregation, and asset protection matters.
