Kaizen Reporting has brought on Tony Weedon from J.P. Morgan to bolster its securities finance offering.
Weedon, who starts at the regulatory reporting service provider today, will join the firm’s Securities Financing Transactions Regulation (SFTR) team in London.
He joins Kaizen’s senior regulatory reporting specialist Jonathan Lee and its team of data analysts providing SFTR reports. Weedon will also be involved in building out Kaizen’s ReportShield Accuracy Testing and Advanced Reconciliations products for SFTR.
At J.P. Morgan, Weedon served on the bank’s fixed income middle-office desk since 2006, as well as contributing to its SFTR and the Markets in Financial Instruments Regulation (MiFIR) implementation programmes.
The hire comes as part of Kaizen’s strategy to prepare for the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA) double-down on its regulatory compliance oversight this year.
In a 2019 round-up blog post, Kaizen CEO Dario Crispini said: “Looking ahead to 2020 we expect to see a dramatic increase in the level of scrutiny from the FCA with a particular focus on data quality for both MiFID and the European Market Infrastructure Regulation.”
Overall, Kaizen increased its team by 60 percent in 2019.
