Radek Stech, the CEO of the Global Principles for Sustainable Securities Lending (PSSL), has joined the Bretton Woods Committee, a global economic network.
The Bretton Woods Committee is a US network that was formed in the US in 1983. Its aim is to bring together industry leaders in business, finance, academia and non-profit sectors to encourage international economic cooperation.
Stech, who is also the executive chair of the International Securities Lending Association (ISLA) Council for Sustainable Finance (ICSF), now additionally serves on the committee with other representatives from the Bank of England, BlackRock, Harvard University and the World Economic Forum.
Stech was appointed because of his work on global sustainable finance. The newly-founded Global PSSL aims to enhance the promotion of environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards across global securities finance markets.
The initiative looks to advance sustainable securities lending, and the broader global sustainable finance market, by setting high-level practices on securities lending that global organisations can follow.
Stech says: “I have always held the Bretton Woods Committee, and its esteemed member-base in high regard, so this invitation is a great honour to me.
"The real benefits to society will be affected by the organisations I work with through my Global PSSL initiative. My role is to bring people together with a common goal and to coordinate their transition towards ethical governance, it’s up to them to adopt these principles as an integral part of their philosophy,” he adds.
