ISLA’s Adrian Dale has joined the European Securities and Markets Authority’s (ESMA) consultative working group for the Post-Trading Standing Committee (PTSC).
Dale heads up the International Securities Lending Association’s regulation and market practice and will now additionally work with other PTSC members such as BNY Mellon’s James Cunningham, Clearstream’s Anne-Pascale Malréchauffé and Citibank’s Marcello Topa, among others.
The PTSC is chaired by Carmine Di Noia of CONSOB — the Italian securities regulator — and its work relates to post-trading market infrastructures and post-trading processes or operations, such as the clearing and settlement of transactions in financial instruments.
The standing committee is also concerned with developing technical standards and preparing guidelines and recommendations relating to EU securities finance regulations that relate to post trade, such as the Securities Financing Transaction Regulation.
All standing committees are established on a permanent basis and draw together senior experts from national competent authorities, preparing the technical work on all areas of ESMA’s activities and preparing advice for the European Commission.
All standing committees also have consultative working groups made up of external stakeholder representatives.
