Brian Godins has left his post at HSBC as head of securities services for Asia Pacific, after 15 years with the bank.
In an online statement, Godins reflects back on his 29 years in the finance industry and describes his time with the HSBC team as “an experience beyond any of my wildest expectations”.
“Luckily for me, the leaders that I have worked for and the teams that I have been a part of have reflected the key values that I hold near and dear to my heart — trust, respect and selflessness. If you have those ingredients in your team then you have the recipe for success,” says Godins.
Godins has held a number of senior positions during his time with the bank, having originally joined in 2007 as European head of securities operations. Before this, he worked for 13 years at Morgan Stanley.
Based in London, Godins was global head of equities operations between 2013 and 2015 and, prior to this, he served as global head of broker outsourcing securities services.
In 2019, Godins relocated to the bank’s Hong Kong office, where he took on his final role as head of securities services for Asia Pacific.
He will now relocate back to the UK, where he hopes to take time to enjoy life and focus on family commitments.
Godins continues: “A heartfelt thank you to all those that have made it a very special end to my HSBC career. I feel very lucky and privileged. I can not wait to meet up with so many of you again from across the globe, as you pass through the UK or I come knocking on your door.”
