Refinitiv has made its suite of quantitative data available via Snowflake, the financial services data cloud.
Released today, this service will enable buy-side quant firms to access Refinitiv’s quant data, along with other vendor and proprietary data sets supported on Snowflake, while reducing the challenge of managing their own in-house data infrastructure.
Refinitiv Quantitative Analytics on Snowflake offers a scalable platform to manage quantitative analysis and investment data, providing access to a large repository of more than 60 financial data, quantitative alpha models and other third-party and alternative data sets.
As a cloud-based service, Refinitiv Quantitative Analytics is updated around the clock and provides opportunities for users to manage their own proprietary data sets within the service alongside Refinitiv and third-party data content. This data content includes equity and index Datastream Pricing, Worldscope Fundamentals and Starmine Models, along with ESG data to support sustainability and ethical conduct measures.
According to the London Stock Exchange-owned data specialist, the service will reap the advantages offered by the Snowflake data platform, enabling faster onboarding, real-time updates, scalability and reduced cost of server and data maintenance, supported by the flexibility and security of a single cloud platform.
Refinitiv head of quantitative analytics and content Austin Burkett says: “Our clients require solutions that help speed and simplify data intake and the concordance process. Our Quantitative Analytics service is a trusted and longstanding offering in the market and its delivery through Snowflake magnifies its value to our mutual clients.”
Matt Glickman, Snowflake’s financial services industry principal, comments: “The Snowflake Data Cloud enables financial services customers to seamlessly discover, access and collaborate with data without the traditional data movement challenges.
“[This will enable faster insights and decision making, while] improving the workflows of quantitative researchers who now have the flexibility to integrate, join and query across their own portfolio data, Refinitiv’s financial forecast, fundamental and market data, topical ESG content as well as alternative datasets.”
