GLMX has appointed Dan Long as securities lending product manager, based in the company’s London office.

Long will be responsible for coordinating systems enhancements for the firm’s global securities lending business.

He joins GLMX from AXA Investment Managers, where he worked for 15 years, most recently as head of securities finance execution. Before this, he was a securities finance trader with BNY Mellon.

Speaking about Long’s appointment, GLMX’s chief product officer Andy Wiblin says:
“Dan has spent much of his career trading and managing traders charged with finding liquidity and best execution for securities lending transactions. Most recently, he has been focused on the use of technology to substantially streamline and improve price discovery, trade capacity and execution.

“We are fortunate to have [Long’s] expertise as we see dramatic increases in volumes and lifecycle events executed using GLMX technology.”

Dan Long comments: “As I saw in my previous role, the funding market is increasingly embracing trading technology as a means to achieve best execution in a fast, risk-reducing and compliant manner. I look forward to contributing to GLMX becoming the industry leader in electronic execution for the securities lending space.”

GLMX’s CEO Glenn Havlicek says: “At a time in which GLMX is growing at an astonishing rate, it is essential that we bolster our team with high achievers. GLMX’s client-base relies on us to supply elegant and efficient technology solutions to replace manual workflows.

“Dan will provide valuable insight for our growing securities lending business and will contribute to our push into supporting other money market instruments.”
