Euroclear will face accusations of breaching UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulations, constructive unfair dismissal and claims regarding whistle blowing during an employment tribunal in October.

Saheed Awan, former head of collateral services and securities finance at Euroclear, is taking his former employer to tribunal on 2 October, following his resignation in November 2014.

Allegations of infringing FCA regulations involve the set up and operation of Global Collateral Limited, a venture in which Euroclear is a joint partner.

A Euroclear spokesperson confirmed in a statement: “Euroclear is aware and will partake in a UK employment tribunal brought by former employee Awan.”

Awan left the Belgium financial services company after three years service. He declined to comment on the employment tribunal or his allegations.
