The European Securities and Markets Authority’s (ESMA’s) statements and measures on no-deal Brexit scenario preparations, referring to 12 April 2019, has now been updated to 31 October 2019.

ESMA made the announcement after the European Council’s decided to extend Article 50 (3) until October.

The authority explained that this change should apply unless the European Council decides otherwise.

It published measures and actions were originally shared on 29 March 2019, when the UK was originally expected to leave the European Union.

ESMA said it would issue further announcements in relation to the application of this new date when necessary.
