US fintech firm MarketAxess has launched a new section to its website dedicated to providing its clients with essential information on the incoming Securities Financing Transactions Regulation (SFTR).
The new section includes a video featuring Sunil Daswani, business development for securities lending and repo solutions at MarketAxess, in which he responds to SFTR-related questions, including a review of how well the industry is preparing for the new requirements.
Daswani also discusses key reporting challenges that MarketAxess clients may face and what to remember as the regulation's 2020 go-live date approaches.
The reporting obligation under article four of SFTR will be phased in over a nine-month period, starting from 14 April 2020 and ending 11 January 2021.
Commenting on the website launch, Daswani said: “We are really pleased to be able to create easy-to-access valuable pieces of information in one place.”
The new website section also outlines further details of the joint SFTR solution between MarketAxess subsidiary Trax and EquiLend, which began the first phase of user acceptance testing in July.
According to MarketAxess, clients are testing in a live solution environment rather than relying on mock-ups or simulation.
The live solution environment maximises clients’ ability to identify process gaps and development areas head of the SFTR deadline, MarketAxess revealed.
