MarketAxess expands STP business development team

MarketAxess, the New York-based market data provider, has appointed Paul Cannell to its post-trade business as part of the straight-through processing (STP) business development team.
In his new role, Cannell will act as business development lead in Europe for MarketAxess' post-trade match and repo businesses.
He reports to Camille McKelvey who is head of the firm’s post-trade business.
Cannell joins MarketAxess from Mitsubishi UFJ Securities, where he served as a senior securities finance professional for nearly eight years. Prior to that, he was a finance trader for Solo Capital partners from 2010 to 2011.
Before that, Cannell also served as a senior securities lending trader for JPMorgan Chase for over seven years from 2002 and BNY Mellon for over three years before that.
A spokesperson for MarketAxess tells SLT: “Paul brings to MarketAxess a wealth of experience in securities finance markets, having spent 20 years at various sell-side firms in sales and trading roles.
“He will work to grow the community of buy- and sell-side organisations who are using our post-trade services to improve efficiency and reduce risk.”
