OCC sees YoY new loan uptick for November

Options Clearing Corporation’s (OCC) securities lending central counterparty (CCP) activity for November increased by 14.4 percent year-on-year in new loans with 105,418 transactions last month.
The average daily loan value at OCC in November was $86.53 billion, a 11.5 percent decrease compared to November 2019.
Equity options cleared contract volume was 640.17 million contracts, up 78.9 percent from November 2019.
Overall, the Chicago-based equity derivatives clearinghouse saw November’s total cleared contract volume hit more than 677 million contracts, up 71 percent from November 2019.
According to the OCC, this marks the highest November ever and the second-highest month on record. It’s year-to-date daily average cleared contract volume through November was 29,295,206 contracts, up 48.4 percent from November 2019.
