Peer network Woman in Asset Servicing (WiAS) has launched a Luxembourg chapter, marking the initiative’s first non-UK expansion. Resources are being supplied by Embark Group.
The group will begin with micro-events, intended to encourage networking amongst new members and enabling the organisation to grow organically in the region.
The announcement follows WiAS’ increased popularity and growing impact in the UK since its founding five years ago. The Luxembourg chapter has been established by members of the group based in Luxembourg who wish to bring the organisation’s advocacy and support initiatives to a wider audience.
WiAS aims to provide empowerment, networking and visibility for women in the industry, running events, networking and mentoring programmes for its members.
Kate Webber, WiAS founder, says: “The network has had a highly successful five years, growing in membership and active engagement across our industry here in the UK.
“WiAS in Luxembourg will enable our team to bring the benefits of both virtual and in-person events, tailored to the needs and opportunities of the market in Luxembourg, creating a network within a network. I wish the Luxembourg team every success, they will be fantastic”.
Jackie Leiper, CEO of Embark Group, comments: “It’s been inspiring to see how fast WiAS has grown in recent years, and it’s a testament to the hard work of everyone involved in the network.
“We’re proud of the support we’ve been able to provide to Kate and her team, and we’re looking forward to supporting them as they continue going from strength to strength, championing greater representation for women throughout the sector across Europe.”
