The Digital Token Identifier Foundation (DTIF) has joined the Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA’s) Digital Sandbox as a data supplier.
DTIF was created by Etrading Software to provide ISO standard identifiers for digital assets based on open data principles.
Denis Dounaev, Digital Token Identifier (DTI) product owner, will be a mentor under the Digital Sandbox Programme.
DTI use is recommended under the EU’s DLT Pilot Regime and has been proposed by the European Securities Markets Authority (ESMA) for crypto-asset identification under the Markets in Crypto-Asset Regulation (MiCA).
As registration authority for the ISO 24165 standard, the DTIF will provide golden source reference data for the identification of digital tokens, while the DTI Registry provides technical attributes for more than 1800 digital tokens.
The data provided by the DTI Foundation to the Sandbox is an accurate representation of all data currently captured by the DTI Registry, the Foundation says.
First piloted in 2020, the Digital Sandbox provides a testing environment for firms at the early stage of product development, enabling experimentation to test proof of concepts.
Dounaev says: “We welcome participants to explore our new dataset for digital tokens and their ledgers. This is a great opportunity to collaborate with other key stakeholders in the digital space.”
