ISSA welcomes Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank USA

The International Securities Services Association has welcomed Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank USA (SMTBUSA) as a new member.
SMTBUSA began its securities lending services in the US fixed income market in 1988 and has since expanded to include non-US fixed income markets, as well as equity lending in more than 20 markets worldwide.
The bank was originally established in 1987 as a New York State chartered trust and banking company, insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
In May 2002, SMTBUSA relocated its office to New Jersey and became a New Jersey State chartered trust and banking company, insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
From a global custody services perspective, SMTBUSA has expanded its network to cover around 90 markets, providing services both in English and Japanese, which includes corporate action events, market newsletters, and reporting.
Established in Switzerland in 1979, ISSA works to support its members and address issues within the securities services industry.
The association’s membership comprises more than 130 firms globally, all of whom are actively involved in the securities services industry, including banks, broker-dealers, custodians, stock exchanges, and technology companies.
