The Dollar Thrifty Battle

Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Avis Budget Group and Hertz Global Holdings

As the battle continues for Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group [DTG],Reuters has reported that Avis Budget Group [CAR] is expected to begin due diligence for a possible bid for Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group in its attempts to top the offer from Hertz Global Holdings [HTZ]. Short interest (percentage shares outstanding on loan) in Avis Budget Group has increased from 9.35% to 12.7% over the past month, whilst Hertz Global has seen its short interest increase from 6.5% to 8.4%. Dollar Thrifty has seen a fall in its short base from 8.5% to 2.7% over this period.

Dillard's Inc

Dillard's Inc [DDS] is due to announce first-quarter earnings on Monday. Short interest (percentage shares outstanding on loan) in the stock has decreased from 9.1% to 8.4% over the past week after having seen an increase from 7.8% at the end of April.
