OCC promotes Joseph Kamnik

Joseph Kamnik, has been promoted to senior vice president and general counsel at OCC has appointed, effective 1 June.
Kamnik will oversee legal and regulatory affairs and provide counsel on a broad range of legal matters to OCC’s management and board of directors.
Previously, Kamnik served as vice president and chief regulatory counsel, where he was responsible for working with and effectuating OCC policies with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and the board of governors of the Federal Reserve, in OCC’s role as a systemically important financial market utility.
Prior to that, he also served as assistant director in the SEC’s division of trading and markets, in the office of clearing and settlements.
Craig Donohue, executive chairman of OCC, commented: “Kamnik brings more than a decade of experience in formulating regulatory policy and regulating systemically important financial market utilities like OCC.”
He added: “This is a critical and important role for OCC as a foundation for secure markets, and the depth of his regulatory experience will benefit our firm.”
