Pioneer Investments has named John Black to the newly created role of senior vice president and institutional business development officer.

Black offers more than 20 years of experience gained in a variety of roles within the institutional markets, including a seven-year stint at Goldman Sachs as vice president of institutional sales, securities lending and prime brokerage.

Black is Pioneer’s second senior institutional sales hire in 2015 after Michael Dirstine, joined in June.

Bill Porter, senior vice president and head of institutional for North America, said: “We’re building strong momentum in our institutional business and John Black will further strengthen our team.”

Prior to joining Pioneer Investments, Black was senior vice president of institutional sales at Toronto-based McKenzie Investments Corp for just over two and a half years.
