State Street’s head of European fixed income trading has left the bank, according to multiple sources.

James Barten, who was based in London, was a managing director in the bank’s securities financing division.

In this role, he managed the lending of all fixed income securities including sovereign, agency, emerging market and credit products outside North America.

He was also responsible for external dealer and client relationships, asset and liability management, client liquidity, utilisation and spread optimisation.

Prior to this, he was a US fixed income trader and a senior international fixed income trader for the division.

State Street declined to comment.
