HilltopSecurities’s senior vice president Brian Wittneben has replaced Allen Tub as the company’s general counsel.
Wittneben will now oversee the firm’s legal and corporate governance functions.
He previously served as general counsel of First Southwest Company, prior to its merger with HilltopSecurities in January 2016.
Wittneben joined FirstSouthwest as vice president and associate general counsel in 2004 before being named senior vice president and general counsel in 2009.
Tubb will continue to serve in a consulting role for a period of time following his retirement.
“We are pleased to welcome Brian Wittneben as general counsel and are fortunate to have such a proven and capable professional to lead our legal department,” said Hill Feinberg, chairman and CEO of HilltopSecurities.
“Throughout his tenure with our firm, Brian Wittneben has consistently demonstrated his sound judgement built on deep experience with regulatory matters, corporate governance, securities transactions and legal strategy.”
“He knows our firm and our industry well, and played an instrumental role in the successful combination of our two legacy firms, Southwest Securities and FirstSouthwest, to form HilltopSecurities earlier this year.”
