James Burron has left the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) after more than six years as its COO.
Prior to AIMA, Burron worked at the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association from 2010 to 2012.
He was also independent director of the AK Jumong Fund from 2010 to 2011.
AIMA confirmed Burron’s departure, and a spokesperson said that the association will be “announcing the appointment of a new general manager for Canada very soon”.
Burron is reportedly forming a new association in Canada, the Canadian Association of Alternative Strategies and Assets (CAASA).
Burron has yet to publicly announce the new association, but his LinkedIn profile has been update to show that he is “forming CAASA”.
