James Day is due to begin a new role as global head of product development at State Street shortly after vacating his securities finance position at BNY Mellon.
Day, who is based in London, will be responsible for delivering new products, managing regulatory change and providing business solutions.
He will join State Street’s global management team reporting directly to Martin Tell, global head of securities finance.
“We are delighted to have James join State Street to help drive product sales across multiple
jurisdictions” says Tell.
“Day will bring valuable insight to draw on our innovative product suite to provide optimal solutions to minimise costs and maximise returns for our clients,” he adds. “In turn, this will help strengthen our continued focus on providing our clients with individualised service, advanced technology and unwavering transparency.”
Day has spent the past six years as managing director and business executive for securities finance for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at BNY Mellon, where he focused on stabilising the business and determining strong client engagement as well as talent management.
He also represented EMEA on BNY Mellon’s London branch risk management committee.
