FIS has appointed Christopher Poikonen as its newest senior sales executive, where he will focus on capital markets solutions sales.

Based in Boston, Poikonen now reports to Andrew Murray, FIS’ vice president for post-trade solutions, capital markets.

Poikonen left eSecLending in November 2017 after just under 17 years. His latest role was business development and innovation executive, where he specialised in business development and innovation for nearly nine years. Before that he focused on strategic business development.

Prior to joining eSecLending in 2001, Poikonen worked for State Street as a securities finance trader in international equities for just shy of three years.

He also held the position of senior account controller in global custody and fund services in 1994 to 1996.
