BNY Mellon clearance and collateral management product strategy head Simon Squire has joined the board of directors at HQLAᵡ.

Squire, based in London, joined the Luxembourg-based firm’s board last month and will sit alongside HQLAᵡ co-founder and chair Guido Stroemer.

Squire brings experience from more than a decade at Goldman Sachs before joining BNY Mellon in 2017, where he has spent three years working in clearance and collateral management.

HQLAᵡ recently secured €14.4 million in funding from BNY Mellon and Goldman Sachs as well as BNP Paribas Securities Services, Citigroup and existing shareholder Deutsche Boerse.

Also on the board are Deutsche Boerse’s Jens Hachmeister, R3’s David Rutter and Eric Deudon from BNP Paribas, among others.
