The Global Principles for Sustainable Securities Lending (Global PSSL) group admitted two advisors and, for the first time, an ambassador to its College of Advisors board yesterday.
ESG champion Piotr Dmuchowski joins as advisor. Dmuchowski has been with HSBC for over 13 years, mostly catering to the bank’s institutional clients. He is currently head of markets and treasurer for Poland, responsible for institutional and corporate clients and balance sheet management.
At HSBC, Dmuchowski is working on developing new sustainable finance instruments in the Central and Eastern European region and, during his time at the multinational, Piotr has been involved in significant transactions including the Panda Bond and Green Bond issued by the Republic of Poland in 2016.
Kenneth LaRoe, also joining as an advisor, is a “serial values-based bank entrepreneur”, according to Global PSSL. LaRoe started Florida Choice Bank in 1999 and sold it in 2006 after expanding it into seven locations and building over $400 million in assets, the highest bank multiple sale at that time. LaRoe also started First Green Bank — the first bank in the United States with a stated environmental mission — in 2009 and sold it in 2018 after growing it to seven locations with over $800 million in assets.
Lastly, Philip Garrett brings his expertise in liquidity, collateral, and balance sheet implementation, optimisation and risk management to the newly-created role of ambassador. As managing director of Tír na nÓg, Garrett brings over 20 years of experience developing and managing business units within global markets and fixed income, currency and commodities divisions of the world’s biggest firms.
Prior to founding Tír na nÓg, Garrett was managing director, head of securities finance for Australia and New Zealand, and head of alternative financing solutions for securities finance for Asia at State Street.
