Citi has appointed John Southgate as director and EMEA head of collateral services at its London office.

In a 20 year career, Southgate began as the vice president at Citigroup in 1999, before moving onto Lehman Brothers as director in their prime brokerage division in 2005.

After three years at the company, he worked as a director for prime brokerage and capital introductions at Nomura for two years. After this, he was head of derivatives and capital product management at Northern Trust from 2011 until 2020.

Prior to his new position, Southgate was a senior consultant at Margin Reform for a year, at its London office.
