RBC Investor & Treasury Services (I&TS) has appointed Paul Burd as managing director and global head of client operations, effective 3 January 2022.

Based in Luxembourg, Burd will be a member of I&TS' senior management team.

Burd has more than 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry.

Prior to RBC I&TS, Burd was chief operating officer at Six Digital Exchange (SDX), where he oversaw the development and launch of a fully regulated exchange and central securities depository for digital assets in Switzerland – the first of its kind in the world.

Prior to joining SDX, Burd served as head of global business operations at Fidelity International from May 2017 to September 2019.

Before that, Burd was managing director and global head of investment bank operations at Barclays Investment Bank from October 2014 to May 2017.

Burd has also held other senior roles at JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and HSBC.

Francis Jackson, CEO of RBC I&TS, says: “I am delighted to welcome Paul, who brings with him a wealth of experience in financial markets. Paul is known for his ability to strategically drive transformation which, coupled with his significant industry experience, positions him well for this role.”
