State Street has welcomed Purtini Joshi as head of Collateral+ Asia Pacific business development lead.
In the newly created role, Joshi will be based in Singapore and report to Sam Edwards, APAC head of collateral management at State Street.
Joshi joins State Street from the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC), where she was previously head of collateral sales for Asia Pacific, during her six years with the company.
Prior to this, Joshi was sale country head for Singapore at Intellect Design Arena, a Polaris Group company, between 2011 and 2015.
Commenting on the announcement, Edwards says: “Purtini will lead the business development efforts for State Street's collateral management solution, Collateral+, in APAC, focusing on helping asset owners and asset managers derive maximum value from their assets.
“Collateral management has gained global importance in recent years due to the implementation of regulatory and compliance framework of Uncleared Margin Rules, where it is used as an effective tool to manage credit and market risks.
“We created this new role as collateral management is gaining much attention from our clients in the region, who are looking to effectively optimise and utilise their portfolios for creating new liquidity pools and funding new activities.”
