Mirae Asset Securities (USA) has appointed Robert Sackett as head of prime brokerage.

Within this role, Sackett will be responsible for leading the expansion of the firm’s global prime brokerage business, while offering clients a full suite of tailored solutions.

Working closely with the firm’s financing teams and high-touch agency execution business, Sackett will leverage Mirae Asset Securities’ capital markets, corporate access and research teams in Asia.

Based in New York, Sackett’s mandate will aid the promotion of the firm’s capabilities including US and global custody and clearing, global securities lending, and repo.

Sackett brings previous experience of building out securities lending and prime brokerage businesses to the role. He joins Mirae Asset Securities from JonesTrading, where he was global head of securities finance.

Prior to this, he acted as head of securities lending at Wells Fargo over a six-year term, and previously held positions at TradeStation Securities and Citigroup.

Speaking about the announcement, Sackett says: “I am excited to join a team of industry
professionals that take a holistic approach to product and client coverage.

“It is refreshing to see a firm that not only concentrates on global custody and clearing, bespoke reporting and financing solutions, and continuous technological innovation, but also understands the importance of client partnerships.”
