Pirum has appointed Francesca Sanzone as director of North American business development in the firm’s New York office.
In this role, Sanzone will be responsible for leading the firm’s expansion plans into North America across fixed-income and repo automation.
Alongside her colleagues in New York and the EMEA sales team, Sanzone will sell Pirum’s product range to clients in North America, with a focus on fixed-income, repo, and developing Pirum’s engagement model across the value chain.
Furthermore, she will act as Pirum’s local subject-matter expert across the repo landscape and follow the firm’s global growth, bringing efficiency and automation to repo lifecycle management for buy- and sell-side clients.
Sanzone brings a host of experience in prime brokerage and fixed-income clearing to the position. She joins the firm from Credit Suisse, where she was previously a director within the company’s prime services division.
Holding a multitude of roles at Credit Suisse from 2006 to 2022, Sanzone had also held positions at Morgan Stanley, Citi and Salomon Brothers.
Commenting on the hire, Bob Zekraus, COO and head of Americas at Pirum, says: “Fran joins us at an exciting time as we continue to focus and execute on our global strategy and extend our full product offering to clients in North America.
“Fran adds a layer of expertise across fixed income and repo and will cultivate key client relationships in her network across both the buy- and sell-side.”
Sanzone adds: “There is a shifting mindset within the securities finance industry
that present opportunities for technology companies like Pirum to enable clients to become more efficient and improve on antiquated processes, in the hopes of creating smarter and better ways of doing business to the benefit of all.
“Pirum brings experience, industry knowledge, and forward-thinking solutions to our clients. I am grateful and embrace the opportunity to be part of something bigger, something that will no doubt change the narrative within our industry.”
