The Kuwait Clearing Company (KCC) has appointed Alex Krunic as CEO.

Krunic will be responsible for developing post-trade activities and services in the Kuwait region.

With more than 23 years’ experience in the financial services industry, Krunic has a broad knowledge of securities services and post trade, including sales and relationship management, clearing, settlement, custody, collateral management and risk.

Before joining the KCC, Krunic was the head of London Clearing House’s equities division, where he was responsible for overall profit and loss. He was also responsible for EquityClear’s strategy, and managing relationships with clearing members, trading venues and depositories.

Prior to this, Krunic held various senior roles at JP Morgan, Citi and Société Générale.

Additionally, Krunic served on the supervisory board of AS PrivatBank, Latvia and is an
advisor to Euroclear UK.

Commenting on Krunic’s appointment, Fahad A. Al-Mukhaizeem, chairman of KCC, says: "Alex’s experience speaks volumes and we look forward to working with him and his team in order to build a strong and leading market infrastructure in Kuwait with KCC being the backbone of a stable and vibrant capital market, which will serve the needs of our domestic and international investors."

Krunic adds: “I am excited to lead such a diverse and vibrant team within KCC, where I
think we have a great opportunity to grow and evolve the domestic capital market. By
safeguarding the interests of our clearing members and building an open, resilient and
transparent market infrastructure, we have every opportunity to be a regional leader in the post trade space.”
