Fidelity Agency Lending has recruited Jill Rathgeber as vice president of product strategy.
In her new role, Rathgeber will report to Justin Aldridge, head of agency lending for Fidelity Investments.
Rathgeber joins the US-based financial services corporation from a decade at BNY Mellon, where she was most recently director of product and strategy. In this role, she was responsible for the development of new products for the securities finance business.
Prior to this, Rathgeber held a 20-year tenure with State Street Global Markets’ securities finance division, where she took on various roles, including 10 years in the securities finance product development group managing the US product development team.
Within the securities finance product development group, Rathgeber was responsible for conducting due diligence for all new products and product expansions for both the agency and principal lending businesses.
Earlier in her career, Rathgeber spent seven years as an international equities trader covering global equity markets.
Rathgeber is widely recognised as a co-founder and global chair for Women in Securities Finance (WISF) — a group which seeks to create a community to foster connections and promote the inclusion and advancement of women in the securities finance industry.
WISF was formed in 2018 and has expanded to form chapters in New York, Boston, Chicago, Toronto and London.
Commenting on the hire, Justin Aldridge, senior vice president at Fidelity Investments, says: “We are thrilled to welcome Jill Rathgeber to our team as her deep expertise and vast network in the securities lending space will be invaluable to our team. Top talent like Jill is essential for innovating and providing world-class solutions for our clients.”
Rathgeber adds: “Choosing Fidelity was an easy decision. Its agency lending business has a renowned roster of talent, as well as innovative technology and solutions.
“I am excited to spearhead on product strategy, ensuring an exceptional, customised lending experience for our clients. Together, we will redefine excellence in securities lending.”
