GCEX enlists Brewer as Chief Revenue Officer

Digital prime brokerage company GCEX has appointed Jonathan Brewer as chief revenue officer.

Based in the UK, Brewer will focus on driving growth from clients across all GCEX entities, including the UK, Denmark and the UAE.

He will work closely with Lars Holst, founder and CEO of GCEX, on the firm’s growth strategy, where he will drive the expansion of GCEX’s presence and product range, with a focus on investor protection.

Brewer brings experience in growing electronic trading businesses and an in-depth understanding of the liquidity and technology requirements of institutional clients.

As co-founder and managing partner of IS Prime and commercial director of ISAM Capital Markets, Brewer played a key role in founding, building and scaling the firm.

Prior to co-founding IS Prime, Brewer’s career spanned over a decade of senior sales and management roles at Goldman Sachs and Sucden Financial.

Commenting on the appointment, Holst says: “Jonathan is very well known and widely respected in our industry, with a reputation for delivering growth and a focus on innovation and market integrity.

“It is a significant endorsement that he has chosen to join our team. His insight, network and extensive industry and leadership experience will be a huge asset to GCEX. I look forward to working with him to drive our ambitious global growth plans forward.”

Brewer adds: “GCEX has a very compelling product make up, as [a company] that bridges the frontier between traditional and digital assets. I am looking forward to connecting with new and old contacts to generate additional commercial impetus for the GCEX Group.

“The opportunity to work with Lars, thereby putting together the founders of CFH and IS Prime, was too good a chance to pass up.”
