IHS Markit Securities Finance has launched a compliance check tool enabling asset owners to conduct independent monitoring of their lending activity.
This allows asset owners to verify that lending activity on their loan portfolios complies with lending parameters.
This tool analyses trade data to identify transactions that are in breach of lending criteria across a wide range of trading considerations, including asset class, counterparty, spread/fees, trade/collateral type, limits on loans and utilisation, tenure and liquidity levels against market date.
Beneficial owners can use a number of channels to access their exception reporting, including the IHS Market Securities Finance web portal, API or through a daily data feed.
Exceptions are reported at transaction level, instrument level or by counterparty, with the user having flexibility to customise their choice of alerts.
IHS Markit’s executive director and head of securities finance product management Kabin George says: “We are excited to introduce a ground-breaking enhancement to our securities finance solution following the best execution functionality we released at the end of 2020.”
IHS Market Securities Finance indicates that it currently tracks more than $33 trillion in global securities from more than 20,000 institutional funds. Its securities finance platform hosts more than 15 years of historical data relating to more than 3 million daily transactions.
