Tom Onions has announced his departure from Morgan Stanley after 22 years with the firm.
Since joining the company’s London office in 2000, Onions entered into a variety of trading roles in equity finance and delta one.
Most recently, he worked for the Americas delta one business, located in New York, where he traded equity derivatives and exchange of futures for physical (EFPs) on US indices focusing on implied repo, dividends and corporate actions.
In an online statement, Onions says: “After 22 fantastic years at Morgan Stanley, I recently decided to leave the firm. I was always immensely proud to represent the equity franchise and felt a great sense of loyalty to the firm as we became the number one equity business on the street.
“I thoroughly enjoyed passing on my knowledge, motivating and empowering the next generation and I wish all of those I worked closely with only success.”
Onions will now focus on family commitments before taking on new challenges.
