Jakob Burell has departed Danske Bank where he had worked as global head of equity finance, based in Stockholm since 2014.

Prior to Danske, Burell served as global head of equity finance at SEB Enskilda between 2000 and 2014.

Commenting on his departure via a LinkedIn post, Burell said that working at the bank has been a “great experience”.

He added: “I have met a lot of nice and talented people during my years at the firm. I now spend time to think about what’s next in my life while I spend quality time with my family.”

Burell now describes himself as self employed but has not shared further details on any new venture.

Danske Bank is yet to confirm who will take over as global head of equity finance.
